Activities at PAL Centre

The PAL Centre is proud to offer its community many activities, ranging from sporting events to welfare meetings. This ensures that our centre is beneficial to everyone in the community, regardless of their background.

Social meetings

The community centre is built for the community, and so we hold lots of social meetings. There are meetings to do with poetry, music and dance, and there is also an IT room available for classes.

Hire

The PAL Centre is available for hire for all sorts of events. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information on this, or to organise an event of your own.

Zumba

Zumba is a fitness program inspired by various styles of Latin American dance. This activity takes place every Wednesday and Thursday for one hour.

Sewing

A class that meets every week for two hours for all things sewing.

Cricket

We play twice a week at either Sefton Park or Wavertree Botanic Gardens. You will need to bring attire suitable to play.

Culture

We regularly hold celebrations for different cultures to represent the community across Liverpool. This helps to build societal relations.

Fun

Our community centre is a great way to engage with the rest of the city and to have some fun.

Yoga

Yoga is a discipline that is all about finding one's balance in life. Newcomers are always welcome, but you will need to bring your own yoga mat.

Health awareness sessions

We hold health awareness sessions throughout the year where we discuss a range of issues affecting minority communities. So far, we have discussed topics such as oral health, healthy eating and mental health.

Cooking

We offer healthy vegetarian cooking classes for women in our kitchen to help to improve their skills, and promote a healthier lifestyle

Welfare

There are regular meetings and seminars that discuss issues such as housing, education, employment and crime and safety.

Comfort

To help everyone achieve their health and fitness goals in an environment in which they feel comfortable, we offer female only sporting activities.

Football

We play football twice a week, either on site or at the Powerleague in Liverpool.

You will, of course, need to bring attire suitable to play.

Lunch

Every week, after Friday prayers, the elders within the local community come together and enjoy lunch. This is a great way of maintaining a healthy social life.

Health screening

Health screening sessions are held that are facilitated by student doctors from local universities. These sessions involve general health checkups.
